  Introducing 3 Strings & A Mandolin, a new Bay Area chamber music group featuring mandolin, violin, viola and cello. Ben Brussell, a classical mandolinist and concert composer, who envisioned an instrumental medium to bring the unique and melodic layer of the mandolin to the string chamber music ensemble, conceived ?Three Strings?. Brussell has adopted the concept further by creating distinctive original orchestrations he has adapted by master composers such as J.S. Bach, Antonio Vivaldi, Ludwig van Beethoven, Erik Satie, Gioacchino Rossini, and Antonin Dvorak, to name a few, as well as playing suitable string quartet repertoire adopted for this unique chamber music ensemble.
