After the prize winning performance in the Lyon Healy International Jazz Harp Competition, Harpist Cindy Horstman, along with bassist Michael Medina, formed the Jazz Harp Group "2 tone", which has played for many distinguished figures, including President Clinton and Wynton Marsalis. You can hear Cindy and 2 tone at various festivals and concerts around the United States and on radio stations around the country.
Cindy Horstman, a native of Austin, Texas, has a unique, jazzy style that brings a fresh new sound to one of the oldest instruments known and loved by all - the harp.
Bassist Michael Medina, a native of Beeville, Texas moved to Dallas in 1978 and graduated from North Texas State University. His studio work includes national and local television and radio spots as well as numerous recordings with various artists. Michael owns the record production company "First Bass Productions", which produces Cindy Horstman's CDs and is a co-member of the touring harp & bass duo, 2 tone.
Andy Timmons has long been recognized as a guitar virtuoso among his peers. A veteran of the international rock band circuit, Andy was recruited by the Epic recording group, Danger, Danger in 1989 and embarked on numerous world tours. He recently received the 1995 Musician of the Year award from The Dallas Observer and is an endorsee / clinician for several companies in the music industry including Ibanez, Hughes & Kettner, and Mesa-Boogie. As an endorsee, Andy is frequently seen in full page advertisements in international trade magazines including Guitar World, Guitar Player, and Guitar for the Practicing Musician. Andy's debut CD, "ear X-tacy" is a true instrumental guitar masterpiece and..."is a fine showcase of chops and musical intelligence"....Guitar World, October 1994.
